From the title of our Article Post it seems that we are coming our from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but it is not. Our Shrine is dedicated on the study and practice of Magick as we preserve and revive the Indigenous Spirituality of our Filipino Ancestors.
In this post, I want to share to you our stand on the use of Magickal Protection as a Defense against the Dark Arts and the use of our prescribed Prayer/ Mantra which is the Luwalhati. The Purpose of having Magickal Protection
So why do we need Magickal Protection? When we say protection it means doing something to guard ourselves against possible danger or harm . So it might mean that danger or harm is immanent to this world that we need protection. For ordinary human, safety and protection is essential as we do not know when this danger of harm may happen. This may come in a form of accident either at home while cooking, cleaning up our house, doing laundry or any activity; It may happen outside our home while walking on the street, playing on the streets, jogging, going to the market; in the office or school; driving our car or commuting. Accidents may happen all the time that may harm us.
Sometimes, we also need to protect our selves from other people. Strangers may look at us and plan something bad against us such as to rob us, Bump us unintentionally and we get hurt, or spread gossip that may affect our social standing. Here in the Philippines, people might get usog, bati and even kulam and barang which involves supernatural powers to affect us. Natural Phenomena such as rain, storm, tsunami, earthquake might also affect us. So as man made accidents of burning houses or arson may endanger us. For drivers and commuters accident may also happen such as cars bumped to each other, aircraft engine failure or even ship on the sea, Lightning may strike an individual when it is cloudy and have heavy rains. Soldiers who are in the battle field may be shot by a bullet either a stray one or directly targeted unto the soldier. This is also considered an Unlucky Strike to the person affected.
What we have written above are just few reasons why a person need a Magickal protection. People equip them selves with Amulets and Talisman that may save them from any possible harm that may happen. It seems that as we live our life here in this planet is that we are living in a dangerous world.
So this might mean that those people who carry a protection amulet thinks that the world we are living now is full of danger and harm.
Likes attracts Likes
On the contrary, we in Luntiang Aghama believe that the world that we are living now is the better world where life can exist. It is the only Planet (so far as of now) that is able to carry life. This is why we all are living in this planet together with all what we could do and have on it. Nature in this Planet has its own intelligence and way of existing. And we as human being adjust our selves to how this planet revolve naturally to its orbit and not the planet adjust on how we like it to be.
The sun rises to the East and set to the West. The Moon has its 4 Phases and the clock ticks in seconds, minutes, hours and days. When we throw things up on the air, it will naturally fall down as a result of the Gravitational pull. The earth moves that produce quakes, and the wind blows to create tide and waves. I might be telling it wrong with regards to the movement of nature, but you know and we must have to know how nature works and operate.
Our Planet is a living planet and this is the same reason why we exist on this planet, because we our selves are like the planet. “As Above. So Below!” The only difference of us to our Planet is that we as human being has a Dangerous Mind and through this mind set of ours we live a Dangerous Life in this Planet.
We are who we think we are
When we think that we are going to need a magical protection, this means that we are preparing our self to encounter possible danger that will happen in our life. Since the purpose of Magickal Protection is to make us safe from harm, we are preparing ourselves for that harm to come so that Magickal Protection Charm or Amulet will work. But instead of preparing ourselves into battle or warfare of surviving from possible danger or harm, there is a best way to solve this anxiety, fear and worries that we put our selves into, and this is the power of Transmutation.
Transmutation is defined as an action of changing or the state of being changed into another form. As we have mentioned that every thing in this world is composed of energy; and energy is not created nor can be destroyed, but the Good News here is that it can be Transformed! And it is said that Energy follows thought. So as a Human being, we can transform Energy through out thought and through it Invention was birthed. From this came the idea of making amulets and charms that we could mold energies such as Bad Luck into Good Luck. That is transmutation.
But as we remember the lessons that been told to us in Hilot Academy of Binabaylan, Apu Adman have told us that:
Life begins at conception; and conception begins in the mind. All wonderful things in the world start to be conceived in the mind…

So everything that is happening in our life can be transmuted by the power or abilities of our mind. This is the innate power that every human being have since the beginning of time.
Luwalhati Chant: A Transmutative Chant
Prayer is one of the Solid Foundation of Luntiang Aghama when we started our ministry. Our ministry is governed by our Philosophy that states:
The Wisdom of God gave knowledge to men; and the Wisdom of Men is to know God!
Apu Adman Aghama
This Philosophy allow us to grow in Faith by knowing God, and by knowing God we have established our Faith in Luntiang Aghama. Through the teachings of the Shrine, we have found reasons why we should have no fear as Fear is a form of negative energies that may pull us down to live in our lower selves. This Fear may develop anger. doubt, fear, hatred and even terror. But as a person with an open eye, we can see the beauty of creation that we must acknowledge and appreciate. Out of our appreciation to the beauty of creation we give praise to the creator. And Luwalhati Chant is our way of praising the creator in the beauty of their creation.
As human being, we love to see, hear, smell, taste and feel the beauty of nature. As we activate or make our senses work we learn. This chant of Luwalhati involves our voice and ears to hear the words we are saying. Through hand gestures by placing our hands to the parts of the body, we can feel that we are touching our own selves. With the gentle touch and movement of our hands, we know that life is an energy that flows within our body to make us alive. Through our voice we chanted out loud the prayer that our ears hear it and vibrate throughout our body.
Luwalhati means Glory. As we continue chanting the word Luwalhati or Glory, we are glorifying the Great Power which is the Supreme Divine Creator. By touching our selves through our hand gestures, we are affirming to our selves that we are the manifestation of the Great Power and we our selves is the Creation of the Creator. Knowing this through hearing and sensing, we are empowered to be the manifestation of God and God will never forsake us in the time of need or danger.
This technique envelopes us into Gods power, and the shield that we create through chanting the luwalhati will transmute any negative energy into positive energy as we are the Perfect Manifestation of the Divine creator. With this, what will be the reason for us to worry? Luwalhati Chant assure as that we are perfectly safe in Gods hand.
