When i started founding a Shrine, some may say that i am a Wanna Be and i admit that i am. It all started with being a Wanna Be or in a clear word to say that I want to be. I have no knowledge of the craft on how to start a group or a Shrine, but my desires to build one make it into reality. Some may say that i need to enroll a class or go to school first before making a shrine; and some may say that i need to have a member or follower in order to make a Shrine. I don’t have all those requirements that have been said by others. But what i only have is my desire to start one. And with my own desire i meditate and contemplate deeply what i wanted to have in the Future, and clearly my desire is to have a Shrine be established that will feed my soul. Since what i want is building a shrine which is religious and spiritual in nature, i have to set up my own belief system. But what do i believe in?
Through out time our beliefs changes and molded us into who we are right now. As time comes near to our 19th year of existence, i want to share to everyone the foundational beliefs that i have when i started building the Shrine and this can be found in our declaration of faith. In that declaration we stated that we believe in God. To what kind of God that i believe in i encourage you to read the declaration itself that you can find by clicking here. And i wrote a devotional prayer that strengthen my bond with the Divinity and empowers me and i would like to share the prayer here.
Blessed be the name of the Lord most high, King of the Universe,
To whom my Life I devote.
To him who created the Heaven and Earth I do put my Trust.
To him who gives me life I do give my love.
To him who makes great wonders I do put my faith.
To him who showers great mercy I do entrust my soul.
To him who hears and answers prayers I do continually thank.
To him whose kindness and love last forever I do proclaim praise.
May the Lord of Heaven and Earth remember his servant and protect his soul in his most Holy Heart.
In this prayer it obviously show my beginning. Before i practice Magick and Mysticism I am a Christian and from my old beliefs i made a structure of blending Christianity into Pagan practice. But whoever i call unto what important is there is a Higher power that hears prayer and guide us through this life. And through that Faith that i had it lead me to find the door that open up to me a new horizon in Spirituality.
As a Magical Practitioner we have to find our own Magick and at the begining of my practice, i find it through my own personal faith and not into the doctrinal faith that been taught by the church or religion. As you will notice that the prayer is full of “I Do’s” statement which is very binding to the one whom i commit my “I do’s”. And i believe that in building a Shrine is a Commitment of doing the “I do’s” you have pronounced.
