Happy New Year of 2022! The first day of 2022 falls on the day of Saturday which is the day of rest according to our Jewish and Messianic Brothers which correspond to a Sabbath.
But for us we acknowledge this day to be ruled by the planet Saturn. In astrology Saturn represents introspection, learning and knowledge. It is the planet that governs practicality, common sense and understanding. As it also rules magick and metaphysics and controls the gateway to the Higher Self. If i will add my personal sense of Humor, the Planet Saturn makes everyone to Turn or to make a move in a circular direction such as to move to the left or right or worst on its worst is to ripped into pieces such as to be torn apart.
On this first day of the Year, me and my siblings went to my mother’s grave to greet her Happy New Year. It’s been already 3 years that she is celebrating the new year on the other world while we are still here in the Physical Plane of existence.
Since it is new year, it means this year will be a year of making new experiences that later on will become a new set of memories that we can tell a story to our future family and friends. We come to our Mother’s grave assuring ourselves that we will never forgot that we have a mother that bring us to this wonderful plane of our existence now.
On every occasion that we are celebrating, we always include your picture to be in the center of the table so that you can still celebrate with and your spirit will still taste the food that we share to one another. I know as i remember, you are the very first who taste the food even before we serve it to the table. But when you were still strong, you are the one who prepares everything for us. And now, its our turn to prepare this food and share our stories of what we remember during celebration of any occasion.
After visiting Nanay, me and lakay went to the public cemetery and pay respect on the central cross where the bone depository is located to pray for the souls of all who died last 2021. Indeed that 2021 have many challenges that comes to all the people not only in the Philippines but also around the world, that is why i pray to Holy Death Sidapa to be gentle on us this Year. I brought offerings of flower, beer, candle and cigarette as i blow my prayers to the cross which represents the bridge of Life to the after life.
This event is my come back of practicing honoring the souls of the dead as last year i focus more on earning a living. On my come back to the cemetery, it encouraged me to have a review on wikipedia about the teachings of death. And amazingly, the Tagalog Indigenous Spirituality have updates. And this was on the other world or the world of the dead which was called as Tanguban that been guarded by the Diwatang Balakbak and Balantay. Though in early teachings the other world is ruled by Bathala and Sitan, now we can find that there are Guardians of the other realm. Within Tanguban there is two region or houses that is called Kasanaan or Kasa, the first one is called Maka or Kasanaan ng Tuwa ( House of Joy) and the other one is Kasanaan ng Hirap at Pighati or just simply kasanaan. These two bridge represents the cross on the cemetery which explains our beliefs on the cross that predates Christian Tradition.
On our way to the cross, i asked for the Spirits message and ask for guidance that I will look upon for the year 2022. And as I walk towards the Cross, i found a playing card and a used mask that been thrown away. It was the 10 of hearts. Well according to cartomancy, 10 of hearts is a good omen for the family. it means protection as it guards joy and happiness. The used masked might be a sign that we could remove our pretension and allow to reveal our real self to the world. Being True to our self will bring joy and happiness to everyone.
