Luwalhati Chant

Luwalhati at Parangal sa Dakilang Kapangyarihan na lumikha sa atin at sa buong sansinukuban.

If you are member of the Shine, you are asked to memorize this as essential prayer for all members to know. This is our Shrine Mantra which will help us in all our needs.

So what do this mantra means?

Luwalhati is a Chant of Praise. It’s words can be translated as:

Glory and Honor to the Great Power that Creates us and the Whole Universe.

In the Katagalugan Cosmology, Luwalhati or Kaluwalhatian is a place above the Earth where the Supreme Diwata (Deity) dwells. In Christian teaching the Kaluwalhatian is called Heaven and on the Visayan Cosmology it is called Langitnon or Langit.

Now-a-days, modern Filipino perceive the word Luwalhati as a condition of Life or situation that is out of conflict and everything goes well as expected. It also can be used to describe our feeling when we successfully achieve something that we work hard for.

Such as in our Ancient Filipino Theology, we have been taught that all of our Good Works will be rewarded in heaven thus the word Kaluwalhatian means. It is a reward to all our effort in bringing goodness into our lives through righteousness.

Glory and Honor belongs to God as we believe in the Shrine of Luntiang Aghama. But someone ask us, who is the God we enshrined and give Glory and Honor for?

As stated in our Declaration of Faith as member of Luntiang Aghama, we live in accordance to our declaration which says:

We Believe in One God. We believe that God is manifested in many forms; God is manifested in a form of male and female; young and old; and in multiple aspects as man could understand most.

From Luntiang Aghama declaration of Faith.

Indeed that this is our Belief. There is one God. A God that is powerful enough to have a multiple manifestation to mankind as man will understand God. And these manifestation of God are revealed to mankind through names. That is why just in our Country, we have received 47 names of the Supreme Divinity that comes from 33 Indigenous Tribes. This is just a few revelations that we have received and there are more to come.

As the Chief Priest of the Shrine, i notice that as we chant the Luwalhati in our daily devotionals, the more Divinity is revealing to us to be honored. As we start to Glorify 13 names and now it becomes 47.

Each day as we Glorify God, we are reminded that we as a devotee are the Sacred Vessel of God’s name. And as we Honor God, we as devotee should live up in an Honorable life.

To chant Luwalhati it becomes a reminder to the Devotee to become a vessel of God’s Glory. And by embracing this responsibility, it will bring you blessings as well.

As we glorify God every day; then God will also glorify us.
