What if this happens to you when you pray to God?
Well it happen to me.
Did I tell you that one of my Favorite Diwata is Anangolay? She is the Goddess of Lost Things and the Daughter of Lakapati and Mapulon, Wife of Dumakulem and the mother of Apolaki and Diyan Masalanta.
At first I thought that her powers are only limited on Lost Things but as I continually works with her (by calling her name) I learned that she is not only Goddess whom we can call when we need to find a lost objects.
In a regular Tarot Cards, Anangolay represents the 9th Major Arcana which is the Hermit. And on the studies of Archangel she corresponds to the Archangel Chamuel.
And lately, Anangolay reveals herself to me as the Supreme Deity of the Pangasinense people as Amang Gowaley. Anangolay is also connected to the Diwatang Tala or Tara (Goddess of the Star which some also associate to Quan Yin) and Hanan which is the Goddess of the Morning and New Begining.
Usually whenever i am in need and call her she responds immediately. She is different from other Goddess that requires offering. I have asked her before if I need to give her something in exchange for her service, even i ask her if i could write her a poem or a song. Calling her name is just enough that she will respond to our needs.
But two nights ago when we conduct the initiation ritual of our Graduates in Hilot Academy, there was an accident that happen. One of the propeller Blade of the electric fan i use flew away, and when i search for it i could not find. So I call on Anangolay for help. Usually she respond immediately whenever I call her. But that night was different. So i endure the humid temperature as we do the initiation ritual and continue to search on the next day, but still we can not find the lost object. We search as we call Anangolay. But the Goddess has no response.
I become worried and think what had happen? Is there a traffic jam on the air ways that my prayers are not being heard? Is Anangolay so much busy that she could not take my call? Or is she out of coverage area?
Well that could not be. So i clean up the Altar as i thought that may be the cause of congestion why my prayers doesn’t reach to her. Usually when i clean up the altar the energy flow will come back again. But still it doesn’t work. I even have cleaned and disinfect the whole shrine, light candles and lamps and smudge the whole place and call for Anangolay. Until my mind tells me to kneel and bow down under the altar and search for the missing items while calling the name of Anangolay. And as I do that, the missing objects has been found.
Well I don’t know what happen to Anangolay, but she assures me that there will be no bad things that will happen to the Diwata. She told me that when that happen it means, we as Human who are calling the Diwata are the one who is out of coverage area. We are the one who neglect to attend our responsibilities to the Shrine and have forgot to give back in Honoring them.
The new lesson that Diwatang Anangolay is teaching us is to kneel and bow down in surrender. We become confident enough that anytime we could ask the Diwata like they are our servant and forget to honor them as our Guide. We as a Devotee are the Co Workers of the Diwata on Earth. We do not just speak the words but we also need to do what we want to happen in our life. As a Co Worker of the Diwata, we need to take action. It is not only our strength and personal powers that is at work here but also through their Grace which we achieve what we want to have in our Life.
