Reflection from being quarantined

On the last week of February 2020 during our Hilot Binabaylan Training, I ask our participants what do we call to a person who was tasked to wake up the people who are asleep. Some say “Alarm Clock” and the other say as “Irritant”. Well we all laugh out loud for that as we look for a name to call on our duties as Hilot Binabaylan.

Kara, Ice and Kai as they prepare the Banana Leaves for Pagsasala Treatment Ritual during their Training as Hilot Binabaylan at Tagaytay Tropical Greens Subdivision.

It seems the Job is easy as we only wake up people that are sleeping, but it is also risky as some people will react differently. Like the clock when it alarm to wake us up, some hit it to make it stop. And alarm clock becomes an irritant when it disturb someone from sleeping.

Today, the Pandemic scare on the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 becomes a wake up call to all of us. The world government put all the people into quarantine and even locked down all cities to prevent the spread of contamination. Few days before the Government issued decree of quarantine and lock down, i finished writing our learning material on Herbalism Class and this is what i realize. Watch the whole video to learn more about it.

Whether this Covid 19 that is spreading around the world is an enemy or a friend, what i am learning right now that it teaches everyone to be grounded. Due to the scare of getting infected, proper hygiene is now observed. Staying at home and disconnecting our selves to the world through social distancing allow us to learn how to reconnect again with our own Family as our Trusted allies. It teach us that our Home is the safest haven where we can be relaxed. It also teach us basic responsibility of making our home clean and safe from virus.

Whatever the lesson that this pandemic teaching us right now, it is transforming us. I pray that the World Transformation that is happening right now will lead us to become a better person. To be more aware of who we are and to be a loving person that promotes Peace.
