Watch “Wicca in the Philippines: Solitary Eclectic” on YouTube

I recieve a message asking me what do i think about Solitary Eclectic Wiccan in the Philippines. And as a Solitary Eclectic do they need to be part of a tradition or denomination?

Well being a Solitary is different from being an Eclectic. But they can be combined.

For me, i’ve been first a Solitary Eclectic. Solitary it means i practice by me self the things that i learn. While being Eclectic, is the learning that i obtain and not only directed to one path.

So being a solitary eclectic means you are a lone practitioner without any single direction or teachings. You adopt all teachings from different tradition and practices that you think good for you to practice.

On the other hand, you can also be part of a certain tradition but you work as a solitary like me.

When i start in the Correllian Tradition of Wicca, i work alone in the Philippines but i am recieving guidance and instructions on how to live my spirituality through my mentor and seminary which is the Correllian Educational Ministry also known as Witch School International.

From there i walk the path towards Priesthood that made me to found the First Formal Correllian Shrine in the Philippines which is Luntiang Aghama.

Being a part of a Tradition, you are working within a structure and you have a concrete direction on where you are heading towards your spirituality,. Whereas being an Eclectic, you have many path to follow and most likely you will end up either to go back to your old spiritual path or creating a new structure that will become a tradition.

Here in the Philippines, most Filipino are Eclectic and the challenge for us is to make these learnings we obtain from different path to solidify and become a tradition.
