Thinking to accept Commission work for my Brother-In-Law who make this piece of art which is a Spirit Connector that we call as Tanikala or in English as a Chain. Though this is not a chain that we used to think that is made of rope or metal that intend to bind in immobilizing a person.
Tanikala is a Filipino Indigenous Culture from the Igorot People which is the Bulol and from the Mansaka Tribe which is the Manaog. The Igorot usually used the Bul-ul as Rice Guardian and Ancestral Spirit Representation; while the Manaog of the Mansaka Tribe, they believe that it is a conduit for communicating with the ancestral spirits and deities. It can be used for ritual healing, protections and blessings.
The Tanikala Spirit Connector has a slightly sharp bottom so that it can be thrusted on soil and leave it there to signify a marker. It can be also used for massaging body parts. The Mansaka people used to rub the Manaog on body parts that is affected with illness and let it stand on the bedside table so that it could absorb all negative energies that surrounds the person that make them sick.
For those who have been Nabansagan, Tanikala can be customized into the Diwata that have chosen you as a vessel. It can be a powerful tool for you to connect with your Diwata everyday.
Will you buy me a coffee for commissioning a customized Tanikala Spirit Connector? How much do you think will it cost including shipping fee?
